So what's the difference between -
'Studio' vs 'M-Connect' vs old keiser m3i (prior to 2022)?
Thinking of purchasing a new used Keiser's m3i? Purchase options are quite confusing with majority of differences being in the display, the bike is the same but the naming relates to the bike display Computer.
So what's the difference between - 'Studio' vs 'M-Connect' vs old keiser m3i (prior to 2022)?
1. Basic K2pi Bluetooth Converter
This is the essential, affordable option for upgrading your older Keiser computer.
* Who Needs This? Riders who only need to connect their older Keiser computer (pre-M-Connect) to fitness apps like Zwift, Peloton, or TrainerRoad via a phone, tablet, or smart TV.
* Connectivity: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) only.
* What it does: Transmits Power (Watts), Cadence (RPM), and Speed reliably to your chosen app.
* The Upgrade: Provides a stable, modern connection that is often superior to older, built-in communication methods.
* Note: Does NOT support ANT+ (so it won't connect to Garmin devices). Requires a USB power plug.
2. 'K2pi proM' Converter (with ANT+ & Bluetooth)
The premium, high-utility model for power users and those needing specific hardware support.
* Who Needs This? Users who need to connect to Garmin devices (Watches, Edge computers) or who want to run multiple apps/devices simultaneously (e.g., Zwift and a Garmin Watch).
* Connectivity: Dual Protocol: Features both ANT+ and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
* Key Advantage: The ANT+ signal is required for Garmin device compatibility and offers rock-solid, simultaneous multi-device connections.
* What it does: Transmits Power (Watts), Cadence (RPM), and Speed to all supported devices.
* Note: This is the most versatile option but is only required if you use Garmin or need concurrent connections. Requires a USB power plug.
Made in the United Kingdom (UK).
As a self employed architect and a single parent of two homeschooled kids, I had to take a break from my work during Lockdown 3.0. My keiser bike has been my lifeline in these tough times, keeping me fit and happy while the kids are busy with their studies or when it’s too cold to go outside.
I came up with the idea of making my own keiser Bluetooth converters after seeing how many compalints there were for Keizer’s attempt. (I never bothered with the official Keiser M converter - it had too many issues and was way overpriced - £130 in the UK!)
I started with 10, then 20, then 50, then 100… and I might make some more if there is demand - Let’s see how it goes… Enjoy your ride 🚴🏼♂️🚴🏼
What does K2pi mean? It’s just a short way of saying ‘Keiser to Pi’ (as In raspberry pi computer which I use for every converter).
